Press Citizen of Iowa City had some very nice words to say about us. Check out the article here. Also, we’re very close to the goal, and we haven’t even had the stache bash! More to come after I digest some serious turkey leftovers.

How do I donate? How do I help this fantastic and somewhat bizarre cause by throwing a little coin their way? The answer is as follows.
Donating Options!
1: Give money directly to a grower. Each grower has a pledge sheet and they will accept cash or checks made out to “Boys and Girls Club of Cedar Rapids” or “BGCCR”. Put M4K in the memo so they know you love mustaches (and so we can track it).
2: Send a check made out to “Boys and Girls Club of Cedar Rapids” or “BGCCR” and mail it to …….
M4K Iowa c/o James McDonald
1219 Nicholas Lane
North Liberty, IA 52317
Remember, checks need to be made out to BGCCR, or Boys and Girls Club of Cedar Rapids, if you’re not into the whole brevity thing. Donations of any size are appreciated. Try not to make checks out to James McDonald, as he is a slanderous devil with a fantastic mustache, and cannot be trusted.

We had a good meeting tonight, got some growers to show up at Gus’. Still looking for more and some donators. We set a goal of $500.00 for the group. Look at these clean shaven gentlemen.

She asks you, “Why? Why do you grow such a ridiculous thing on your face?”
You look her dead in the eyes and say, “It’s for the kids.”
That’s right, folks! For the kids! Mustaches for Kids raises money for charity, and the Iowa Chapter is giving back to the flood victims. The Boys and Girls Club of Cedar Rapids does a fantastic job that is both heartwarming and very needed in our community. They got hit by a TON of water during the floods. 13 feet, to be exact. At 3 inches per ’stache, that’s 52 soup-strainers laid end to end. That’ll blow your mind. Kinda like these pictures.

Things are a little nuts down there, and they need our help. Ainsley Hogan (319) 350-5786 (the development co-ordinator) is thrilled that we’re willing to help. Either that, or she’s irresistibly drawn to the thought of our fantastic mustachio’s.
Which brings me to my final point. Make all checks out to “Boys and Girls Club of Cedar Rapids” and put M4K in the note. Visit their site at bgccr.org Remember. It’s for the kids.

After speaking with the fine folks at Gus’ in North Liberty, the following shall be decreed:
1: We shall meet henceforth at Gus’ for Weekly Checkpoints!
Most importantly, Gus’ servers beer, and has really really big televisions. The kind of televisions that you can really wrap your beermop around.
I’m not entirely sure if there is an actual “Gus”, but I imagine he looks like this –>
Either way, the choice for us is clear. To Gus’ we go. We’ll see you there on Monday, November 17th! Get your friends to join.

Welcome to Mustaches for Kids Iowa Chapter. Take a look around. Get yourself prepared for Iowa’s first ever Mustaches for Kids growing season. If the previous sentence makes no sense, or sounds creepy, then you should head over to the FAQ, and perhaps the Rules too. Tell a friend. Tell a family member. Tell someone with a mustache to shave it and start over. It’s for the kids! Help us out!
